Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers the Belote Club game — at app.belote.club, in the Telegram Mini App, and in our mobile apps — and this website.

The short version: we collect what is needed to run an account and a card table, we do not sell anything to anyone, and there are no advertising networks in the product.

Who we are

Belote Club International operates the game and this site, and is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at belote.info@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What we collect

Only these categories, and nothing is bought from third parties.

  • Account — a username, and a device identifier so a guest account can be recognised again. If you sign in with Google we also receive and store your Google account ID, email address and profile picture. Guest accounts have no email address at all.
  • Profile — your country and interface language, so tables and copy match where you play.
  • Gameplay and progress — your rating and level in each mode, your finished matches with the scores and rating changes, tournament standings, and which days you played (for the weekly streak).
  • Live table state — the room you are in, your seat, your cards and whose turn it is. This exists only while a game is running and is discarded when it ends.
  • Notifications — the in-app notices we have sent you and whether you have read them. If you allow browser notifications, we also store the push subscription your browser issues, so we can deliver them.
  • Support — if you send feedback, the message and a reply address.
  • How you found us — the referring site or campaign tag of your first visit (for example a search engine or a shared link), the page you arrived on and the platform you play on, stored with your account so we can see which channels bring players who stay.
  • Short in-game answers — if you answer an optional question in the game, such as why you left a game, your answer together with the game mode and how far into the game you were.
  • Technical — the usual server records needed to serve, secure and debug the service, such as IP address, browser and device type.

What your browser or device stores

The game keeps a few things in your browser or app storage so it works between visits: your account and sign-in token, your chosen language, a device identifier, your sound and card-layout preferences, and the state of a game you have not finished. You can clear these by clearing site data, which signs you out.

This website uses Google Analytics, which stores a cookie to recognise a returning browser (see Analytics below). It sets no advertising cookies.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and let you play — without a username and progress there is no game. This is what you agreed to when you created the account.
  • To keep games fair and the service secure — detecting abuse, abandoned games and rating manipulation, which is our legitimate interest in a working game.
  • To send browser notifications — only if you have granted permission, and only until you withdraw it.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the game and this website are used and where players get stuck, so we can improve them.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

Analytics

Both the web version of the game and this website use Google Analytics. On this website it counts page views and where visitors came from, such as a search engine, and the links from here into the game carry a campaign tag so we can see how many visitors go on to play. In the web game it counts which screens are opened and a set of product events — for example a game starting or ending, the mode and how long it lasted, sign-in steps, invitations and notification prompts. We look at these in aggregate, to see which parts of the product are used and where players get stuck. Your username, email address and other account details are never sent to Google Analytics. The mobile apps send no analytics at all.

You can prevent analytics by using your browser's tracking protection or Google's opt-out add-on.

Emails we send

We do not send routine service email. If you write to us, we reply to the address you wrote from — that is the whole of it.

The one marketing email we offer is the tournament reminder: a note when the monthly tournament starts and one on its final day. It is strictly opt-in — nobody receives it without switching on “Tournament emails” in the game's Settings — and it is only possible on accounts signed in with Google, because guest accounts have no email address.

When you switch it on we record the moment, the version of this policy in force, and the app language you were using, so your consent is provable and the emails arrive in your language. Every such email names us as the sender and carries a one-click unsubscribe link; you can also switch the toggle off in Settings at any time. Either way, stopping is immediate.

What other players can see

A card game is played in public. Other players at your table, and anyone looking at the leaderboards, tournament standings or their own match history, can see your username, country, profile picture, rating and level, and the results of games you played with or against them. Your email address, device identifier and sign-in details are never shown to other players.

Who else processes your data

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. It reaches these services only because they run parts of the product:

  • Google — sign-in (only if you choose it), and analytics for the web version and this website.
  • Netlify — hosting for the web app and this site.
  • Telegram — only if you play through the Telegram Mini App, under Telegram's own terms.
  • Expo — build and update delivery for the mobile apps.

Where your data is held

Our game servers and database are hosted outside Armenia, and the services listed above operate internationally. Your data may therefore be processed in countries other than the one you play from.

How long we keep it

  • Account data — until you delete your account.
  • When you delete your account, it is removed from the active player list and kept as a closed record so the same account cannot be silently re-created or a ban evaded. Tell us if you want that record erased too.
  • Finished matches and tournament standings — these are shared records of games played with other people, so they remain in those players' history even after an account closes.
  • In-app notifications — automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • Live table state — discarded when the game ends.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account is available in the app under Settings, and you can also write to us. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to your national data protection authority.

Browser notifications can be switched off at any time in your browser's site settings, without affecting anything else.

How to delete your account

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Where local law sets a higher age for consent to online services — up to 16 in parts of the European Union — that age applies instead. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Sign-in uses tokens rather than stored passwords, Google sign-in is verified against Google on our server, and account data is only returned to the account that owns it. No system is perfectly secure, but we fix problems we learn about promptly — if you find one, please tell us.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will say so in the app rather than relying on you re-reading this page.
